The rotor of unit 1 on the left bank of the Three Gorges Group's Baihetan Hydropower Station was slowly raised under the traction of two 1,300 ton bridge cranes produced by China crane company, which opened the prelude to the hoisting of the rotor of the world's first single-unit capacity of 1 million kilowatts. After a horizontal movement of about 300 meters, the rotor safely and steadily fell into the pit of unit 1, achieving precise docking with the generator shaft.
The outer diameter of the rotor is about 16.2 meters, the maximum height is about 4.1 meters, and the lifting weight is 2,100 tons. It is the core component with the largest weight during the installation of the unit. For the safety and stability of the installation of rotors and other important equipment and the lifting process, the 1300 ton eot cranes are designed and precisely manufactured together with anti-sway, precise positioning functions, etc. The Three Gorges Group ordered a total of 8 sets 1,300-ton bridge cranes for Baihetan Hydropower Station and Wudongde Hydropower Station.
Baihetan Hydropower Station is equipped with 8 hydro-generator units with a single unit capacity of 1 million kilowatts respectively on the left and right banks. The unit capacity ranks the first in the world, with a total installed capacity of 16 million kilowatts, ranking second in the world. It will be launched in July 2021. The first batch of units will be put into operation for power generation, and all units will be put into operation for power generation in July 2022.
