At 10:17 am on November 26, 2021, a grand and meaningful delivery ceremony kicked off at the Weihua Jiangsu base. The first three sets remote-controlled automated STS crane for the smart terminal of Zhejiang Petrochemical Co., Ltd(ZPC) officially shipped out of the port and set sail to the user terminal.
The three remote control automatic quay cranes designed and manufactured by Weihua Crane are also the rare automatic quay crane products in China. They are technically difficult and challenging. They are the largest and most advanced automated quay crane products with remote control functions that ever produced by Weihua Port Machinery Division.

The three remote control automated quay cranes with a working height of 58m, a raised height of 79m, and a total length of 85m. The rated lifting weight is 41t under the spreader, the total lifting height is 46m, the gauge is 12m, the out reach is 38m. Sun Xiaowei, Chief Engineer of Weihua Port Machinery Division, said that the project is a tailor-made product for ZPC, with high automation and difficult design. It not only has the characteristics of large lifting load, small gauge, and long reach, but also it has the advantages of fast lifting and travelling speed, high work efficiency, energy saving and environmental protection.
Zhou Xianghong, vice president of Zhejiang Petrochemical, said that the six quay crane products of the project are special customized products, thanks to the hard work of the Weihua project team that the products can be shipped smoothly. This proves that the cooperation with Weihua is a correct choose. From the beginning of the cooperation with Weihua shares, we have learned that Weihua emphasizes integrity and quality as a corporate culture. After many cooperation projects, we have also felt the strength of Weihua. We are full of expectations for more cooperation between the two parties in the future.
According to Wang Lei, regional sales director of Weihua, the project has a total of six Weihua remote control automated quay cranes, all of which are highly automated products, equipped with technical modules such as optical fiber transmission, laser scanners, and numerical control operation boxes, and integrate container contour scanning and electronic defense. Weihua's independent core technologies such as electric anti-sway, automatic box matching, box number recognition, truck positioning, and truck anti-lifting, etc., especially the Weihua intelligent remote management system with data collection, analysis, status monitoring, and fault diagnosis functions, make the equipment The stability and security have been greatly improved. The product can be seamlessly connected to the terminal container management system, and one person in the central control room can monitor the automated operations of multiple quay cranes at the same time.
The whole STS cranes are shipped by self-propelled drive module combined transport vehicle ro-ro-on and off-ship for loading and unloading. It is arranged in reverse order at the Jiangsu Weihua base. It is ro-ro on board after the whole crane is rotated,and Ro-Ro disembark and enter the operation track after arriving at the wharf of ZPC.
With the further deepening of world economic exchanges, more and more smart port construction will be carried out in full swing. Weihua relies on academician workstations and post-doctoral workstations to set up research and development departments such as Wuhan Port Machinery Research Institute and Beijing Intelligent Control System Research Institute.
